Alton Towers Fireworks Event

29 September 2020

Good afternoon all,

Following the latest Government guidance and continuing uncertainty about future measures, it is with great sadness that the business has taken the very difficult decision not to go ahead with this year’s Fireworks Spectacular.

As I’m sure you can appreciate, this has not been an easy choice. We are deeply disappointed not to be able to offer our usual end of year celebration for you, your friends and family, as well as our guests, to enjoy.

Instead, we will be operating a normal theme park day on Friday 6th November ( of which you are more than welcome to attend with no requirement to pre book), and a Passholder only Weekend on 7th and 8th November, and this will be communicated to passholders shortly.  I want to thank you for your understanding and for your continued support and I will share any further updates as soon I can.

Kind Regards

Update on the Use of Residents’ Tickets

15 September 2020

Good afternoon all,

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful September sunshine! We are delighted to announce that we will now be allowing an allocation of vouchers to be redeemed as tickets at our Waterpark and our Extraordinary Golf; you will need to exchange one voucher for two tickets to the Waterpark and one voucher for four tickets for use at Extraordinary Golf. Please email the Waterpark 7 days prior to your off-peak visit: waterpark@alton-towers.com.

As a reminder, you do not need to pre book for visiting our theme Park during Oktoberfest or Scarefest. To use your Local Residents Pass, bring the pass with you on the day you wish to visit and we will exchange your vouchers for an entry ticket. Please note that we are still working through our Fireworks ticketing options and processes so I will be in touch as soon as I can to confirm the process for Fireworks.

Kind Regards

Alton Towers Event News

11 September 2020

Dear all,

As always, I hope you and your families are well and I want to thank you for your continued support towards the Resort. I wanted to firstly officially introduce myself to you as your point of contact. My name is Kate and I am Head of Product Excellence for the Resort. At the heart of our Resort, is our guests and of course; our local communities and that is something that I truly care and am passionate about. Liz Greenwood has now left the business and I wish her all the very best for the future. Liz has always been an integral member of the Alton team and she will be sadly missed by us all. With this said, I have very big shoes to fill and really hope I can make her proud by ensuring the relationship between the Resort and our community remains a strong one.

Up and coming Events and Information

Oktoberfest

Runs from 11th September- 4th October

From 2pm each day, the Theme Park front lawns will be transformed into a Bavarian-themed venue, complete with Lederhosen-clad hosts and oompah band! It certainly offers the perfect setting for families and friends looking to explore new delicious dishes and live outdoor entertainment in our fun, family friendly atmosphere. We will have in addition to our live music, German food stalls and our very own Bier Keller for our guests to totally immerse themselves in this event. During Monday- Thursdays, our rides and attractions close at 6pm, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, CBeebies Land will close at 7pm and all other rides and attractions will close at 8pm.

Scarefest

Runs 9th-11th, 16th October- 1st November

Our annual Spooktacular event returns with entertainment and attractions to suit all ages. This year, two of our award winning scare mazes are returning- Darkest Depths and The Attic. In addition, we have a brand new maze ‘Freak show: Toxic Junkyard’. Sounds delightful??!?!? This is an outdoor maze, and it will invite the foolhardy to venture into the Freak Show hidden den to discover the secret of the psycho clowns’ next big show. Count me out!

I am very excited to announce that older families will be able to enjoy the gardens as never before with the brand-new, free attraction ‘Garden Lights Walk: Whispering Souls’. This is not a live scare maze and is free for all to come and enjoy and experience.

Younger families will be able to enjoy live shows throughout the day on our front lawns and rides and attractions will be available until 9pm every day for guests to enjoy.

Fireworks

Runs 6th, 7th, 8th November

Our Fireworks nights provide a final chance to enjoy our amazing rides and attractions before the end of the 2020 season. The fireworks preparations are well under way to make for a safe and socially distant dazzler of a display. The rides and attractions will remain open until 9pm during these three nights, with the actual display starting at approx. 7pm and lasting for 25 minutes.

During all of our events, we will be operating with a restricted capacity which I hope you will see this reflected in the traffic in the surrounding areas.

If you have any questions regarding our events of if I can be of assistance in any way, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards

Alton Towers Calling

5 August 2020

Good Afternoon all,

I do hope you and your families are well. I just wanted to share a few updates with you all. Firstly, thank you so much for your patience with the change of process for issuing local residents tickets. I can confirm that if you have sent your documentation or requests in, the Admissions team have processed these and are available for collection from the Admissions kiosks. I would advise to pop up in the afternoons as it tends to be quieter and you are more than welcome to drive up to do this. If you do require for the tickets to be posted, please get in touch and I can arrange is for you. You do not need to pre book to gain entry, however, we do ask that you bring the full booklet with you as opposed to individual tickets to ensure entry on the day of your visit.

WaterPark and Golf Entry

Currently, as we have opened these two attractions with a significantly reduced capacity, we are unable to accept local residents at this time. As soon as this changes, I will of course keep you informed and I thank you for your patience here

Resort Update

It is great to have our guests back on site across the Resort for us to create those safe and memorable experiences. Prior to visiting, please ensure you read our website to see the full breakdown of Covid measures we have in place to allow you and your families to have a great day out with us. As we are well underway with our summer season, activity and planning has commenced for future events that are happening this year. With this in mind, there are two dates that I want to make you aware of.

Friday 7th August

05:00am until 09:00 on this morning will be crane movement in and around the Bagshaw’s Lane/Paddling Pool/Goal Striker area as our Entertainments team load in containers to commence a Scarefest attraction install. The crane is being brought in to move the 4 containers so I wanted to advise there (potentially) may be slight noise at this time. Due to the busyness of the day on Resort, we are not seeing guests leave up until 9pm some nights, which means we are unable to carry out this work in the evening.

Monday 10th August

To end the year as always with a bang, we are exploring new and innovative entertainment and show ideas for our Fireworks extravaganza . To ensure we provide our guests with a socially distant and yet fantastic firework display, we are exploring alternative firing zones. We will therefore be firing 6 shells on Monday evening to test projection & sound for our new 2020 display. This will commence at dusk, approximately 20:30pm.

As always, please feel free to share my emails with any fellow residents and I thank you for your support.

Kind Regards
