All Saints’ Church – Denstone Parish Church
All Saints’ Church is well worth visiting for its beautiful design and friendly services. It is the centre for C of E Christian worship in Denstone and is also historically important.
The church was founded by Sir Percival Heywood, who employed George Edward Street to design it. Street was a great architect associated with the “Gothic revival”, ranking alongside Pugin and Butterfield. All Saints’ was Street’s favourite Church and is regarded as one of his finest works. Its corner stone was laid in 1860 and the church was completed in 1862.
For a more detailed history, a leaflet is available from All Saints’ Church on request.
All Saints’ Church is now under the care of Reverend Liz Jones, together with St Michael’s Church, Rocester, St Giles Church, Croxden and St John the Evangelist Church, Hollington.
Liz has a web site for these four churches, so for information about services and other church matters, please see: www.rdch.org.uk
The Parish Press
The Parish Press is a monthly publication that contains information about the local community and churches of All Saints’ Denstone, St.Michael’s Rocester, St Giles Croxden and St John’s Hollington.
As well as details of church services and other meetings there is information on other forthcoming events taking place in the four villages and advertising of local businesses. Due to restrictions of space, we produce 2 editions. The Denstone edition contains the paid advertising for Denstone, and the other edition contains the paid advertising for Rocester, Croxden and Hollington. All other contents are the same in the 2 editions.
The magazine is published around the start of each month except January. The annual cost is around £4.
